Penny ... Penny is a Whippet cross from the Meade County Animal Shelter. Her new owner had lost her Lab of 14 years and decided she wanted a lap dog. One Thursday night when a call went out from PINS members that there were a lot of animals at the shelter in need of homes that night, she went. At the shelter, Penny was handed to her. Penny was just like a baby! She locked her arms around her neck and wouldn't let go. So her new owner took her home and is extremely glad that she did. Penny doesn't fetch balls or anything like that, instead, she's a lover. Her favorite thing is to sit in a lap and snuggle. She loves to go outside and run, but in the house she is a calm, quiet lap dog that barely barks. She is one of the sweetest dogs that her new owner ever met, much less owned. Penny greets her owner at the door after a long day at work and can't wait until she sits down to jump in her lap, cock her head, lift a paw and fall gently against a shoulder. Penny is loved dearly. It would have been a real loss to this world if she had not found a home. There are some very sweet dogs that can be found at the shelter. Her owner knows -- she decided to name her after the PINS group that helped her find this wonderful companion. |
