Biscuit ...

Biscuit was abandoned at the shelter (left in a box at the door) when she was approximately three months old. She was adopted by an 18-year-old girl, who had to give her up when she went off to college. She was taken back to the shelter, but was quickly adopted by someone who had seen her the first time she had been there. 

Biscuit's new owner learned in a call from the college girl that her house had burned down and if she had still had Biscuit, she might have perished in the fire. Biscuit sleeps with her new owners every night.
