2005 was the first year of the event. The run was organized by Heather Mann and Linda Elsey, and was sponsored by local small businesses. 

Nearly 60 people and their dogs gathered at Buttermilk Falls to participate in the event. Commemorative T-shirts were available for those who paid the $10 entry fee. 

Winners in age and male/female/child categories received prizes. Lots of door prizes were donated by local merchants.

In 2006, nearly 80 people and their dogs participated. The run was again organized by Heather Mann and Linda Elsey, and sponsored by local small businesses as well as individuals in memory of beloved pets and departed family members who were animal lovers. 

This will become an annual May event for PINS because the response has been so great for both years.
