5K Run Your Tail Off
May, 2005 2005 was the first year of the event. The run was organized by Heather Mann and Linda Elsey, and was sponsored by local small businesses. Nearly 60 people and their dogs gathered at Buttermilk Falls to participate in the event. Commemorative T-shirts were available for those who paid the $10 entry fee. Winners in age and male/female/child categories received prizes. Lots of door prizes were donated by local merchants. Meade County Fair
July, 2005 PINS had a float in the 2005 Meade County Fair Parade themed "Chillin' with Da Pooches." The float even had real dogs (courtesy of Melinda and Wayne Greenwell) and a swimming pool filled with water for the pooches. |
PINS Pet Festival
September 17th, 2005 Brandenburg City Park PINS 4th annual Pet Festival on September 17th continued to be a popular and successful event. Animals and owners participated in many contests. Featured was the Ekron Baptist Church Puppet Show, and lunch was prepared by Boy Scout Troop #95. The Blessing of the Animals Service was again performed by the Rev. Jarrod Hunt. PINS Wreath Festival
December, 2004 & 2005 Meade County Courthouse PINS held their 5th Annual Wreath Festival in the Meade County Courthouse. Volunteers designed and built wreaths, decorated trees and many other handmade holiday items displayed for sale in the Courthouse all week. The hundreds of beautiful snowflakes decorating the Courthouse corridors were made for PINS by Meade County school children. |
