Biscuit
Biscuit was abandoned at the shelter (left in a box at the door) when she was approximately three months old. She was adopted by an 18-year-old girl, who had to give her up when she went off to college. She was taken back to the shelter, but was quickly adopted by someone who had seen her the first time she had been there.
Biscuit's new owner learned in a call from the college girl that her house had burned down and if she had still had Biscuit, she might have perished in the fire. Biscuit sleeps with her new owners every night. |
Merlin
My name is Merlin. I was given up by my owner because she had to go to stay with her daughter and she couldn't take me and my best girl with her. We didn't understand why we were separated and shoved into little cages after six years of roaming all over our mom's house. My girlfriend got sick - I think she was lonely and missed our mom and me - and she went to the Rainbow Bridge. I sat in my cage for six months waiting for someone to take me home. Then one day this nice lady came in and took me out of my prison cell and held me and petted me! I was so happy that I started purring. But she said something about talking it over with someone and I didn't get to go home with her. But two days later she came back! This time I got to go with her to my new home. I love it there and she tells me every day how much she loves me and how happy she is that she found me. She kisses me too (I hate that but I let her anyway) and tells me what a beautiful boy I am. She talks to me in Spanish which I don't understand but it sounds nice. She tells me she's just learning it and needs someone to talk to. She gives me treats and let's me have a bite of tuna and roast beef because I beg for it. She says I'm spoiled but I think she spoils me because she loves me so much. I'm so happy to have my new moms and a fur-ever home.
